Moving for Molly

Welcome to Team "Moving for Molly"! Let's get our bodies "moving" in support of Molly!

We're excited to participate in a cause near and dear to our hearts. While always big advocates for mental health services, we fully immersed ourselves in finding mental health services for Molly when she was in 2nd grade. Already a neurodivergent learner, she began experiencing escalated anxiety which prompted us to enroll in cognitive behavioral therapy at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Through these services, we, as a family, were able to find successful strategies to use and eventually were able to take a break from therapy.

Years later, with the ever-changing life of a teenager, anxiety was slowly creeping back into our lives... until one day it came in like a wrecking ball. In early 2023, on what seemed to be a regular school night, we found ourselves in the depths of a mental health crisis. Fortunately, thanks to the education provided at Katie's work (NCH) and within the community, we quickly sprang into action. We contacted the mental health hotline and were enrolled in services with the CAT (Critical Assessment and Treatment) program. Molly was able to receive weekly therapy, which was critical for her well-being at the time. After successfully completing treatment with CAT, Molly was able to transition back to the therapy she received in the past. Thanks to the talent and compassion of true angels on earth, we've be able to turn this crisis into one of the biggest challenges our family has been able to overcome.  We move mountains for Molly!

By participating in the On Our Sleeves 5k, we hope to do our part in advocating for mental health services and breaking the stigma! We want to celebrate all the struggles Molly has overcome.

Thank you for taking the time to read about our family's journey. We appreciate any donation or participation you are able to provide!
