LALD Rare Disease Day Fundraiser

Thank you for visiting our Nationwide Children's LAL-D Fundraising Team!

On Marathon Monday, 4/18/22, Adam Smith will be running in the Boston Marathon to raise funds for LAL-D.  Nationwide Children’s Hospital is committed to improving future treatment and therapies for rare diseases.   Our LAL-D Support group would like to fund gene therapy research at Nationwide. LAL-D is a rare genetic disease in which there is an enzyme deficiency causing high cholesterol and fat build-up in the liver and other organs. The current treatment is either weekly or bi-weekly infusions. There is no cure for this condition, but our goal is to support future research and treatments that would be more effective. Dr. Paul Martin has been conducting gene therapy at Nationwide Hospital and initial results are positive. This research can take many years, but donations can significantly speed up the process. We appreciate your support on Marathon Monday!! Every gift makes a difference.
Our team is fundraising for Dr. Paul Martin's LAL-D gene therapy research.

Join our team in this great cause.
All donations are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged by Nationwide Children’s Foundation.
On behalf of patients and families affected by LAL-D and Nationwide Children’s Hospital, thank you for your support!
