In Memory of Mila Elaine
On November 1st, 2017 we found out “something was wrong” with our pregnancy. It marked the second worst day of our lives, and it was the day we boarded an emotional rollercoaster that we could not get off.
The weeks that followed consisted of a few minor victories in our baby girl Mila’s health, but mostly, bad news after bad news. After a difficult 20 weeks, Mila Elaine was born on March 22nd, 2018. We were surrounded with high quality care and compassion at Children's Hospital for the next 7 days. However, despite the best efforts of Children's Hospital, on March 29th, 2018, Tony and I faced the worst day of our lives when we said goodbye to our sweet baby girl.
The days that followed consisted of us trying to find some meaning or purpose, and we set our sights on remembering and honoring Mila. We decided the Children's Hospital marathon seemed like the best way to start. We completed the full marathon last year (2018), and this year, we are hitting the pavement again to run in Mila’s honor as we train for the half marathon. Help us in supporting Children’s Hospital for giving many parents hope. They gave us 7 days with our daughter and we will forever be indebted to them.
