The Stigma Stompers
the Butterfly Run
for The Stigma Stompers!
Did you know that 1 in 5 children is faced with a mental health issue before the age of 12? Did you know that 75% percent of lifetime mental illnesses are present by the age of 24. In spite of these statistics, there is often a stigma associated with behavioral and mental health, which sometimes prevents people from seeking the treatment they need for themselves or their loved ones. It's important that we work together to change the conversation about mental health -- and focus on caring for kids and ourselves as whole people (body, mind and spirit!).
The Butterfly Run was created to support life-saving research and care for kids affected by behavioral and mental health issues such as developmental disorders, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, suicide, and depression. We hope to raise awareness and gain an understanding of the many issues facing patients and families affected by these conditions.
With your support, the Big Lots Behavioral Health Pavilion at Nationwide Children's Hospital will be the first facility of its kind entirely focused on children and adolescents with behavioral and mental health needs. This expansion will influence treatment across America (and the world!) and will help change the face of mental health.
Nationwide Children’s Hospital is committed to treating all children regardless of their family’s ability to pay, which cannot be achieved without your support. We are participating in the Butterfly Run to help kids around the world who have behavioral and mental health needs. Won’t you join us in helping kids everywhere?
Please consider joining our team and/or supporting the Butterfly Run by making a donation today. No donation is too small!
