Thank you for visiting my Nationwide Children's Hospital Fundraising page in honor of Miles Wayne Montgomery.
Miles was born on April 16th, 2019. This year he will be celebrating his 5th heavenly birthday. Miles was born with a rare genetic metabolic disease called nonketotic hyperglycinemia (NKH). There are currently about 500 known cases worldwide, including 200 Americans. Children with NKH are unable to breakdown the amino acid glycine. Currently there is no curative treatment as it is a very complex disease and predicting prognosis and finding a cure is still being researched.
His mother, Kelli has expressed what an impact Nationwide Children’s Hospital has had on her and her family; “Children’s hospital went above and beyond for us while we’re there. We grew a relationship with the nurses that took care of Miles. They comforted us every step of the way. I could not have asked for a better team of doctors and nurses”.
As Miles 5th birthday approaches this April, we would like to raise money for the pediatric ICU at Nationwide Children’s Hospital where Miles spent 11 days in intensive care. Our goal is to raise $1,000 by his birthday on April 16th, 2024.
