My name is Kaela! Thank you for visiting my Children's Champion page. The fundraising efforts behind this event mean a lot to me.
I wear many titles: Mother, Wife, Sister, Daughter, and Friend. One I have always been especially proud of is ‘Big Sister’. My entire life I’ve always been asked how many, and how old my siblings are, and there has always been a void when answering those questions. A void left by the loss of my little sister Sarah. Sarah was two years younger than me. She had an energy, and smile, that lit up the whole room. While her time with us was cut incredibly short, it was purposeful. The impact her life, and death has had on me, has made me who I am today. I have personally felt the impact that cancer leaves behind on families, and would like to make that burden less cumbersome by providing financial support to families who are fighting the fight.
I have had my eyes on running the Columbus Half Marathon for some time, but have always felt like it would be too hard and too emotional. I’ve decided that I can do hard things. I am tired of running away from things that scare me, so it’s time to run towards them.
Life is short & fleeting, so I’m taking action while I can. I hope that you will join me in raising money, and spreading light during dark times.
Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about my story ❤
