It's that time of year again! It's time to help Nationwide Children's Hospital's Hospice and Palliative Care team. We did such a good job last year, that we have to kick it up a notch this year. To help with that, I'm setting a pretty big goal, but I feel like I'm setting a pretty big pay off as well. If we can meet my goal of $4000 this month, I'll shave this beautiful beard! I don't say this lightly, I haven't seen my chin since 1994!
Below is a snapshot of the services provided to those children and their families:
• 100 patients received Palliative or Hospice Care
• The Palliative and Hospice Care Team of 14 performed the following number of visits to those 100 patients:
Nursing: 900 visits
Massage Therapy: 450 visits
Music Therapy: 145 visits
Supportive Counseling (Chaplain and Social Worker): 540 visits
• The only pediatric Hospice or Palliative care program in a nine-county service area.
