Borsay Brood of Ducks
As a member of the Development Board for Nationwide Children's Hospital, I committed to helping raise funds to support The Joining Hands Fund by participating in the 2020 Virtual Columbus Duck Race. At Nationwide Children’s Hospital, the health and safety of the patients, families, and community members is always prioritized. As we continue to navigate through unprecedented times with COVID-19, we are adjusting and adapting and out of abundance of caution have decided that this year the ducks are going digital! Our virtual duck race gives participants near and far the opportunity to join in the fun from the comfort of their own home. Leading up to the event, online crafts, scavenger hunts, and other “social distance” friendly activities will be available. The “duck pluck” will take place on Saturday, August 15th at 11:00am and winners will be announced by our special guests. More exciting “virtual” details coming soon!
You can help by donating through my event page, using the "Donate Now" button.
The following donations enter rubber ducks as participants in the race:
Solo Duck – $5
Family of Ducks - $25 - 6 Racer Ducks
Flock of Ducks - $50 - 12 Racer Ducks
Colony of Ducks - $100 - 25 Racer Ducks
Gaggle of Ducks - $250 - 60 Racer Ducks
Brood of Ducks - $500 - 130 Racer Ducks
*If you donate $50 or more, a stuffed animal duck will be donated to a child at the hospital!
All proceeds raised from this years’ Columbus Duck Race benefit The Joining Hands Fund: Helping Kids and Families Face Coronavirus. Your support will help us invest in cutting edge research related to COVID-19, expand telehealth so kids continue to get the appointments they need, provide behavioral health support, and much more.
Every $5 donation (i.e., rubber duck purchase) also enters you for a chance to win one of three cash prizes: $3,000, $2,000, or $1,000. Each duck purchased will be assigned a number that corresponds to a racer duck at the event, where each winner will be determined.
For those of you familiar with the Duck Race and/or the Development Board, you know that proceeds from this event (and others hosted by the Board) typically benefit pediatric research at the hospital. But one of the many things that I appreciate about this Board is that we seek to financially support Nationwide Children's Hospital where there is a need. As COVID-19 has spread across the nation, the hospital saw a need to respond in order to both help with the Coronavirus and its effects on children and families, as well as continue to provide the care so desperately needed before COVID-19. I am proud of our Board for committing the proceeds from this years' Columbus Duck Race to supporting vital services through the Joining Hands Fund.
Our family knows firsthand how important and life-changing the work is at Nationwide Children's Hospital. I very much appreciate you joining me in supporting this cause.
