I am running for the 4th time to honor my daughter, Abby, who was born with a congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia. Abby inspires me every day with her love and courage. She has had 3 cardiac catheterization surgeries and 2 open-heart surgeries and will need more in her future. If you have had the chance to meet Abby, you know that her heart defect is not a limitation. She lives every day with a smile and cheerful attitude and loves to meet new friends and try new things.
Abby's team of doctors, nurses and surgeons at Nationwide Children's Hospital have taken great care of her over the last five and a half years. She is comfortable in their care and loves playing doctor at home with her little sister and stuffed animals. Abby says that one day, she wants to be a doctor and help others who are hurt or sick too. The professionals at Nationwide Children's Hospital's Heart Center have been an inspiration to all of us and that is why we want to give back.
Please consider supporting the most meaningful marathon in the country by making a donation to the Nationwide Children's Hospital's Heart Center and our team, Abby's Heart Warriors today.
