Why Join The Movement
Advocating for children's mental health is something everyone can do!
The Butterfly Run, presented by Big Lots, is a virtual community run and walk to grow awareness, break stigmas, and raise funds for the On Our Sleeves® movement, powered by the behavioral health experts at Nationwide Children's Hospital. The mission of On Our Sleeves is to provide every community in America with free evidence-informed educational resources necessary for breaking child mental health stigmas and educating families and advocates. Kids don't wear their thoughts on the sleeves, so it's time to give them a voice.
The 2021 Butterfly Run will be virtual but we hope to have a in-person event in 2022. Complete your run or walk anytime between September 1 - October 10 while fundraising along the way. Culminating on October 10, World Mental Health Day, we will broadcast The Butterfly Run Celebration to thank our participants, donors and sponsors for their support. No action is too small. No voice is too young. Together, we can transform children's mental health.
Now, more than ever, the dollars you raise are critical. Children's mental health is an often overlooked and vastly underfunded component of pediatric health and research. Lack of healthcare resources and funding only complicate and hinder efforts to make significant changes that impact our youth during these critically important formative years. Gifts of any size will help us accelerate pediatric mental health research at Nationwide Children's Hospital, which operates the nation's largest program for child and adolescent behavioral health. In March 2020, Nationwide Children's dedicated the Big Lots Behavioral Health Pavilion with the goal of developing a national model for pediatric mental health care and research. Learnings gained from clinicians and scientists at Nationwide Children's will be freely shared to improve care for children everywhere.Register
