Hello friends!
Every year since 2020 when I had my cardiac surgery, I have tried to continue to push myself outside of my comfort zone in an effort to celebrate the gift of life, as well as share my gratitude for the ability to still be able to do hard things. For 2024, I have set my sights on returning to the marathon stage, and will be running the Columbus Marathon on 10/20/24!
As I have done with many of my past marathons, I also like to find a way to raise funds in support of a local charity in the city I am running. For the Columbus marathon, I will be raising funds for Nationwide Children’s Hospital as a Children’s Champion. I am looking for some awesome supporters who would like to sponsor me on this journey and be a champion right beside me!! Every dollar helps, and every donation is extremely important and very much appreciated!
Nationwide Children’s Hospital is committed to treating all children regardless of their family’s ability to pay, which cannot be achieved without community support and generosity. I am participating in the race for this mission and I am determined to help children from all 50 states and more than 60 countries treated at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
One of the unique things to this marathon is that there will be 24 Marathon Mile Champions representing a designated mile along the course. These champions are actual patients, and their families, who pick a theme for their mile and celebrate their strength and bravery all along the course. There is also an Angel Mile - one special mile dedicated to the Angels who are no longer here with us. Each year their brave families come together to support one another, the hospital and the race by sharing their time and memories of their loved ones with the race participants. And there is also an Encore Mile, where every patient who has lined the course in the past is recognized. How can you not be inspired each mile??!!??
I plan to randomly assign all of my sponsors to a mile, and once I receive all the Mile Champions names, stories, and what mile they are representing, I will pass this along to you so that you can get to know a little bit more about the champion, and mile, that you are supporting.
Thank you for visiting my Children's Champion fundraising page and supporting the patients and families of Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus.
Please consider supporting the most meaningful marathon in the country by making a donation today. I look forward to having you be a part of my team!
Cheers! <3
