We are a go for Round 4!
Will is motivated as ever to get back to his big race day! This year we have decided to raise funds for Nationwide Children's ENT program. Will has been helped by Dr. Elmaraghy and team since day one. Outside of our neonatal resuscitation team, he was the first to help our little man Will with his tracheostomy just a few hours into his life. The ENT team has been a constant support throughout our journey and we will always be thankful!
Will asked me to give everyone an update as they do not come as frequently. He has been hospitalization free since July 2022 (knock on wood)! He is still frequenting his "institute" for regular multi-disciplinary outpatient appointments. He is now a big man and is pushing himself with three day a week pre-school. All of his classmates have been energetically engaging him and are always excited when he can make it to school. Will is also getting the privilege of building up his school virus immunity with frequent illnesses this year that we have (thankfully) been able to manage at home. Between family and awesome home healthcare nurses and messaging with his team of doctors at the hospital, the Aten home PICU navigating most of these hurdles! He also continues to work with home speech therapy, PT and OT.
This year Will is looking forward to sharing race day with his TWO brothers, welcoming the newest member to the team in May!
Will continues to make strides in learning and development at his own pace. We are as always striving to keep him as healthy and happy as possible and appreciate the wonderful support from all of you.
We are looking forward to many friends and family joining the team this year and having a fun race day this fall. We hope that everyone, regardless of training (runners, walkers and cheerleaders), can join in and support this great cause!
We are blessed to be so close to Nationwide Children's Hospital and Will continues to have his best life because of it!
