Thank you for visiting my Children's Champion page. As you may remember, just over 11 years ago, our family found out just how important it was to have a world class children's hospital right in your own backyard.  My oldest nephew, CJ,was born with a previously undetected heart defect that resulted in his immediate transfer to Nationwide Children's Hospital. Doctors performed 8 hours of open heart surgery at 2 days old and after spending just over 3 weeks in The Heart Center at Nationwide Children's Hospital he was able to come home, good as new!!!!  CJ is now in the 6th grade, playing tackle football and much taller than me.  I will be forever grateful to EVERYONE at Nationwide Children's Hospital for giving "an extraordinary kid the ability to lead an ordinary life" a phrase my sister Jodi, CJ's mom, has often said.
