Running with Jennifer
Family & Friends,
Most if not all who know me well, know that I have an older sister Jennifer that we lost to cancer 20 years ago this July.
She was tougher than most, loving, funny, friendly, a free spirit that can not be contained or described by her little brother in words. Any of you that know her- get it - and have tried to describe her yourself and felt like you fell short...
This will be my second marathon - I know for a fact Jen was with me on my first - 5 years ago- I needed her every step of the way and it was the closest I've felt to her in years, we had a few hours to catch up and is the reason I've decided to do this.
I'm looking forward to running with her back at Ohio State, our old College town. We have some catching up to do!
Jen and the team at Columbus/Nationwide Children's Hospital fought so hard to overcome this disease and save her. Unfortunately we lost her, but WE can and will continue the fight for other families.
The purpose of the Nationwide Children's Hospital Columbus Marathon & ½ Marathon is to raise funds to support life-saving research and care? Nationwide Children’s Hospital is committed to treating all children regardless of their family’s ability to pay, which cannot be achieved without community support and generosity. I am participating in the race for this mission and I am determined to help children from all 50 states and more than 60 countries treated at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Won’t you join me in helping kids everywhere?
